Who We Are

Brooklyn Bridge website is a collection of facts, history, and information about Roebling’s 1883 East River Bridge in New York City, also known as "The Great Bridge" and, of course, "Brooklyn Bridge".

For more about the bridge's name, see the question about when the Brooklyn Bridge received its current name.

The site was initiated by Gary Feuerstein in 1997. Gary Feuerstein serves as Curator, and Yannik Bäurle serves as Editor/Archivist. The site is intended to document the design, construction, and cultural impact of this engineering masterpiece, and to pay tribute to the Roebling family, the construction team, and New York’s Department of Transportation.
